Week 3: Testing my ‘new’ Zenit TTL + AGFA Vistaplus 200 film

I recently purchased a Zenit TTL from eBay, I had heard the Helios lens that came with this camera was excellent for portraits and was famous for excellent bokeh.  The camera was very cheap £10 including postage and came with full leather case, strap and original packaging and instructions.  It is in excellent condition and shows almost no signs of use.  As expected it is the heaviest camera I have ever used but feels very well built.  I took the camera to Stamford for an afternoon on a grey January Sunday and loaded it with poundland film.

There were definitely some operational ‘quirks’ with this camera! The meter is very slow to respond and I switched between using the meter on camera, to using my phones light meter and at times just having a guess.  Also, when at f5.6 and above the viewfinder is very dark making it very difficult…
